Análise das Determinantes do Desempenho Empresarial nas Empresas Têxteis Portuguesas: Evidências em Dados em Painel
Abstract
Objetivo: O principal objetivo deste trabalho é estudar as características específicas das empresas do sector do azeite e os fatores macroeconómicos que influenciam o seu desempenho.
Metodologia: Para atingir este objetivo foram utilizados dados de 177 empresas produtoras de azeite (CAE 10412) em Portugal entre 2015 e 2020. Os modelos foram estimados utilizando a metodologia de dados em painel, especificamente, o método de estimativa do sistema GMM proposto por Arellano e Bover (1995) e Blundell e Bond (1998).
Resultados: Os resultados mostram que as variáveis de desempenho dependem da perspetiva dos stakeholders. As metas sociais e a melhoria das condições de trabalho são relevantes para o acionista por considerações de imagem ou pelo estrito cumprimento dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). Ao contrário de outros setores, o ano da COVID-19 teve um efeito positivo no desempenho empresarial, sugerindo que as famílias portuguesas aproveitaram o facto de estarem em casa para melhorarem a sua alimentação de forma saudável.
Originalidade: Estudo de um setor preponderante para a economia portuguesa, sujeito a sucessivas crises económicas.
