Cultural intelligence of the leaders and team cohesion in virtual multicultural environments
Abstract
In an era where organizations operate in increasingly cultural diverse and digital environments, the effective management of virtual multicultural teams has become a critical competency for the competitive companies. This article analyzes the relationship between leaders' cultural intelligence and team cohesion in virtual multicultural environments.
Thereby, a quantitative study was conducted with 146 professionals from different nationalities and sectors, all with experience in virtual multicultural teams. Data were treated using IBM SPSS Statistics, through descriptive statistics and correlations analysis.
The results of the research reinforce the importance of cultural intelligence in the management of virtual multicultural teams, offering valuable contributions in both organizational and academic contexts. The implications highlight the need to adopt more effective leadership practices that foster cohesion in virtual multicultural environments. Additionally, the study contributes to filling gaps in the literature by articulating individual variables, such as leaders' cultural intelligence in explaining the dynamics of virtual multicultural teams.
